デイリーケア4Daily Care:
Antimicrobial care is the new normal for leather fans.
Antimicrobial care section

Antimicrobial care is no longer just a matter of infection prevention, but also a matter of personal appearance. In this article, Mr. Hiroaki Mitsuhashi, an expert colorist in the Planning Department of Columbus Corporation, Japan's top manufacturer of bag care products, gives an easy-to-understand lecture on antimicrobial bag care. Although the lecture is based on bags, it can be applied to a wide range of items.

Step.1 Before care

Brush the entire bag to remove dirt and dust. Put your hand inside the bag and press down firmly. Carefully brush the seams and other parts of the bag.

Step.2 Apply cleaner

If the bag is still stained, apply the cleaner to a soft cloth (towel, etc.) and apply it to the entire bag to remove the stain.

Step.3 Apply leather and antibacterial cream

Apply Leather Cure leather protective and antibacterial cream to the entire bag. For large sized items (applicable to boots as well), it is easier to use a sponge instead of a cloth. This will ensure an even finish. Before applying the leather and antimicrobial cream, test it on inconspicuous areas (inside, bottom, etc.) to see if it will not stain.

Step.4 Put it on the details.

Since the corners of the bag are prone to rubbing, apply leather protective and antibacterial cream (Leather Cure Leather Protective and Antibacterial Cream) and finish the bag carefully. If the color darkens after applying the leather-curing/antibacterial cream and it looks like a stain, leave it for 10 to 30 minutes to see how it looks. If it becomes an oil stain, remove it with the cream as soon as possible.
[Caution! Be careful not to leave scratches on the surface of the leather, as they will darken.

Step.5 Wipe dry and apply waterproof spray

Allow the leather to dry thoroughly, then wipe dry with a soft cloth (towel, etc.).
Apply waterproofing spray (AMEDAS 420 Water Repellent Spray), spraying evenly over the entire surface from a distance of 15 to 20 cm. Be sure to ventilate the area when applying the waterproof spray. Before spraying, test in an inconspicuous area (inside, bottom, etc.) to see if it does not stain. Antibacterial care is better once a week for items used daily and once a month for items used infrequently.
