cotocul started as an apparel manufacturer in 2005 with the goal of "creating a global brand from Kyoto". At first, we sold products manufactured by our partner factories to specialty stores nationwide. But over time, we wanted to be able to deliver products made by our own hands directly to customers, and in 2015 we launched cotocul, a brand of handmade small leather goods. The word "cotocul" is a coined word combining "koto" (ancient capital) and "culture" (culture). The brand name expresses our desire to deliver the materials and culture inherited in Kyoto and Japan through our products. Our brand concept is "Creating products that bring smiles".
